The Internal Security Service dismantles a terrorist organization that planned to target military and security sites.

Tripoli, March 30, 2025 (LANA) - The Internal Security Service announced on Sunday that it had successfully dismantled a banned terrorist organization that was planning to carry out a series of subversive operations in the country.

The service said in a statement that the organization, which used a false code name to mislead and recruit others, adopted inflammatory propaganda methods aimed at attracting new members to its ranks through publications imbued with extremist ideology.

It explained that investigations revealed that this organization had already begun planning and preparing for terrorist operations in advance, as it was proven to have communicated with external parties to obtain logistical support, including the materials needed to manufacture explosive devices and electronic devices such as drones, which it intended to use for reconnaissance of targeted sites.

According to the statement, the service was able to uncover the organization's preparation of a secret site that was used as a base for manufacturing weapons and explosives.

The Internal Security Service indicated that the vigilance and professionalism of its members prevented the terrorist plot from being carried out. The individuals involved were arrested and referred to the competent judicial authorities for necessary legal action.

The service presented part of the arrested individuals' confessions via video recording, affirming its firm resolve to continue implementing comprehensive security strategies aimed at uprooting terrorism and dismantling any organizations that threaten the security and stability of the state.
