Tripoli, March 17, 2025 (LANA) - Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, discussed international cooperation to support the electoral process in Libya on Monday with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden.
The meeting addressed the Commission's level of readiness to conduct the second batch of municipal council elections for 2025 and the importance of creating appropriate conditions to ensure the success of the electoral process, reflecting citizens' aspirations.
The Ambassador praised the efforts made by the Commission to prepare for the municipal council elections, expressing his country's appreciation for the steps taken so far. He affirmed the UK government's readiness to provide technical and advisory support to the Commission to enhance its readiness and enable it to conduct elections in an environment characterized by integrity and transparency.
