Libyan Foreign Ministry: The provocative calls promoted by the Israeli occupation regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state are rejected in their entirety
Pulbished on:Tripoli, February 9, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity expressed its strong condemnation and absolute denunciation of the hostile Israeli statements regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state on the lands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The ministry said in a statement today that the provocative calls promoted by the Israeli occupation are rejected in their entirety, stressing that these shameful statements represent a dangerous escalation, a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of states and the rights of peoples, which requires clear and firm international condemnation.
The statement stressed the Government of National Unity's categorical rejection of these provocative statements and extremist positions that express an aggressive exclusionary ideology that fuels the fire of sedition and pushes the region towards more tension and escalation.
It also stressed that these miserable attempts will not succeed in obscuring the established truth. The Israeli occupation is the root of the conflict, and its continued aggressive practices against the Palestinian people are the biggest obstacle to achieving peace and stability in the region, according to the statement.
In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the absolute solidarity of the National Unity Government and its full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt in confronting these rejected allegations, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a firm stance to condemn this dangerous transgression and confront attempts to violate the sovereignty of states and tamper with the principles of international law.
The Ministry affirmed the National Unity Government's firm and steadfast position in supporting the legitimate historical rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their inalienable right to establish their independent state with full sovereignty on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, considering this the only condition for achieving security and peace in the region.
The statement also warned against the continuation of Israeli attacks and violations in the occupied West Bank, including repeated incursions, illegal settlement expansion, and the plundering of Palestinian lands, stressing that these colonial practices will only fuel the conflict and undermine all efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
