Dialogue session in Benghazi discusses paths of change and social policies.

Benghazi, February 08, 2025 (LANA) - The Social Policies Committee of the National Security Council affiliated with the House of Representatives organized, today, Saturday, in the city of Benghazi, a dialogue session entitled "Paths of Change and Entitlements of Sustainable Development".
The session was attended by the Chairman of the National Security Council, Counselor Ibrahim Bushnaf, and the Director General of the Marriage Support Fund, Muhammad Ibrahim Masoud, in addition to a group of specialists in the social field.
The session aims to shed light on social policies in terms of their definition, objectives and indicators, in addition to providing an overview of the development of social policies in Libya since the founding of the state until the present time.
The Rapporteur of the Advisory Board of the National Security Council, Abdul Hadi Shamatah, confirmed in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the council is interested in the general policies of the state and works to re-read them in different ways, while supporting institutions concerned with health and educational policies, especially social policies.
Shamata explained, that social policies include a set of orientations, laws and regulations adopted by the state to protect its citizens, especially vulnerable and poor groups, with the aim of achieving stability.
He pointed out that Libyan society has experienced social care and protection since independence, but there is now an urgent need to rehabilitate the laws to ensure continued stability and social security.
Shamata called on everyone to cooperate in order to build comprehensive policies, stressing that the Council is open to all proposals that aim to preserve the country and achieve stability.
