Libyan institutions meets with the Expertise France.

Tripoli, February 5, 2025 (LANA) - Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Huwaij discussed with the "Expertise France" Foundation at the ministry's headquarters in Tripoli today, Wednesday, ways to diversify the national economy, in the presence of a number of Libyan institutions.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Authority, Abdul Salam Al-Ansari, along with a number of officials and representatives of Libyan institutions and bodies, including the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Environment Ministry, the Agriculture Ministry, the Ministry of Oil and Gas, the Investment Promotion and Privatization Authority, the Libyan Center for Solar Energy Research and Studies, the Libyan Center for Climate Change Research and Studies, the University of Tripoli, Wadi Al-Shati University, and the College of Renewable Energy.
On behalf of the Expertise France, which is the French government agency for international technical assistance, Maxime Post, the Director of the Foundation in Libya, and Mohammed Al-Aswad, Deputy Director of the Foundation, also attended.
Discussions focused on the potential to diversify and strengthen the national economy, through developing a strategic plan for green investment in various sectors, with a focus on renewable energy, water and waste treatment, the transportation sector, and the protection and development of natural resources. The attendees also discussed the importance of investing in human resources, through capacity building and training, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, and the need to develop current legislation and provide the necessary funding to support these areas.
