During his meeting with the Chinese ambassador, Dabaiba stresses the necessity of the return of Chinese companies to Libya.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 7, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, stressed the need for major Chinese companies to return to Libya to work on housing and infrastructure projects to support reconstruction and advance development.
This came during his meeting today, Thursday, in Tripoli with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Libya, "Liu Jian", where they discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of economic development, including energy, infrastructure, and communications.
According to the media office of the Prime Minister, the two sides discussed following up on the results of Al-Dabaiba's visit to China last May, which witnessed meetings with Chinese investors to support partnership in major development projects.
Al-Dabaiba stressed the importance of implementing the understandings reached during the visit, especially in the fields of alternative energy and communications.
The meeting also touched on the issue of prisoners between the two countries, as the Prime Minister stressed the importance of addressing this issue, and the possibility of convicts serving their sentences in their countries, to enhance judicial cooperation and common interest.
The two parties agreed on the importance of accelerating the holding of the Libyan-Chinese Forum as soon as possible, to be a platform for enhancing mutual cooperation and expanding partnerships between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy and communications.
