The Ministry of Defense confirms that the security situation in Tripoli is stable after a truce violation.

Tripoli – June 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity confirmed the stability of the security situation in the capital, Tripoli, following sudden field movements in some areas over the past few hours, describing them as a clear violation of the ceasefire arrangements and approved security understandings.

The Ministry explained, in a press statement issued today, Monday, that it monitored these movements through its relevant channels and intervened immediately to contain them and enforce respect for the truce. This resulted in the withdrawal of the violating elements and their return to their previous positions without any escalation.

The Ministry reiterated its full commitment to the decisions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Army and to the tasks of the Interim Committee for Military and Security Arrangements, praising the discipline of the regular forces and their commitment to maintaining stability and avoiding any confrontations that could disturb public security.

The Ministry of Defense also warned against the recurrence of such violations, affirming its readiness to take the necessary measures to ensure respect for security sovereignty and protect the redeployment process, which is taking place under the supervision of state institutions.
