Dbeibah discusses cooperation in combating terrorism and border control with an American delegation.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, September 23, 2024 (LANA ) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, "Abdul Hamid Dbeibah ", discussed today, Monday, in the capital, Tripoli, with the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Affairs, "Celeste Wallander", ways to enhance cooperation between Libya and the United States in the fields of combating terrorism, developing military capabilities, monitoring borders, supporting Libyan military training programs, and developing border monitoring systems, in a way that enhances Libya's capabilities in confronting security threats.
The Prime Minister's Media Office reported that the meeting addressed regional issues related to security and stability in North Africa, as the two parties affirmed their commitment to enhancing security cooperation in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to supporting the stability of the region.
The meeting also touched on the danger of closing oil fields and vital resources, as the two sides stressed the need to protect these resources and ensure their continued flow in a way that achieves the interests of the Libyan people and enhances economic stability.
The meeting was attended from the Libyan side by Minister of State for Communications and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad and his deputy, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Namroush, and Advisor to the Prime Minister Ibrahim Dbeibah , and from the American side by Deputy US Command in Africa John Brennan, and Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya Jeremy Berndt.
