Tripoli, August 26, 2024 (LANA) - The handover and receipt committee formed by the Presidential Council announced today, Monday, that it has begun its work from within the headquarters of the Central Bank of Libya.

The committee explained that the handover and receipt process took place in the presence of the Deputy Governor assigned by the Presidential Council, "Abdul Fattah Abdul Ghaffar", and the head of the committee, the Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity, "Mohammed Al-Shahoubi".

Media sites had circulated a decision by the President of the Presidential Council to assign "Abdul Fattah Ghaffar" with the duties of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya temporarily and to complete the handover and receipt procedures.

The presidential decision stipulated that "Abdul Fattah Ghaffar" would manage the work until the return of the assigned governor or the election of a new governor.

The presidential decision stipulated that Abdul Ghaffar be committed to implementing the financial arrangements until an agreement is reached on the unified budget.
