Misrata, June 28, 2024 (LANA) - The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals for Production and Industrial Zones in the Government of National Unity, “Mustafa Al-Samou,” opened, Thursday, the Beta Polymer Factory for Chemical Industries in the Al-Karareem Industrial Zone in the city of Misrata.

The Ministry's media office stated, that the opening comes within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to strengthen the industrial sector, encourage investment, and provide new job opportunities. The factory is considered one of the important industrial projects that is expected to contribute to achieving local economic growth and improving the level of industrial production in the country.

The office explained that the factory specializes in producing a variety of chemical products that meet the needs of the local market, including all types of paints and coatings, building materials, paper, furniture, textiles, carpets, soil stabilization in roads, and concrete additives.

In his speech during the opening,  Al-Samou expressed his optimism about the future of the industrial sector in Libya, noting that this project will reflect investors’ confidence in the local economic environment, and stressing the Ministry’s continued support for industrial projects with the aim of achieving sustainable development.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, “Mohamed Al-Faqih,” the Head of the Ministry’s Office Branch in the Western Region, “Suleiman Bin Youssef,” and the Director General of the Industrial Information and Documentation Center.
