Tripoli, June 25, 2024 (LANA) - The Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, Badr al-Din al-Toumi, discussed today, Tuesday, with the Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, Mahmoud al-Futaisi, and the directors of the Office of International Cooperation and Quality Management at the Ministry of Health, improving the quality of health services at the regional level.

The Ministry's media office stated that during the meeting, a visual presentation was given on the quality standards of health services in supporting the application of national standards for primary health care, developing the relationship between health facilities and the beneficiaries of the services they provide, the role of the health visitor, developing legislation and controls that define his tasks and role, and supporting and providing capabilities, to reach To the sustainability of services, including digitization and the electronic health file.

The Minister of Local Government stressed that the challenges require radical solutions to achieve sustainability in work, noting that it is possible to benefit from local revenues in municipalities by deducting part of them for primary health services.

The Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, on the other hand, stressed the importance of concerted efforts of the Ministries of Health and Local Government in order to develop primary health care in all municipalities, adding that the role of the Council will be pivotal in coordinating the efforts of the two ministries and the rest of the state institutions, stressing the need to continue all related programs.
