Tripoli, May 28, 2024 (LANA) - The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, renewed the UN mission’s commitment to promoting the full inclusion of Libyan women in the political process.

“The mission is committed to continuing its support for Libyan women and men, in their efforts to achieve fair representation of women in elected bodies at the local and national levels,” Khoury said in a speech she delivered during her participation in the second conference of the High National Elections Commission on women and elections on Monday evening.

  It is noteworthy that this conference was attended by about (60) female representatives and activists who came from all over Libya to discuss the legal challenges facing women’s full participation in elections and provide recommendations to overcome them.
