Hammad stresses the need to activate the role of women and provide them with opportunities in all leadership positions.

Benghazi, May 27, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister-designate of the House of Representatives, Osama Hammad, stressed the necessity of activating the role of women and providing them with the opportunity in all leadership positions.

  This came during his participation in the dialogue session held in the city of Benghazi on the sidelines of the activities of the African-European Conference to discuss the issue of (feminization of migration) and its intersections with the goals of sustainable development with the participants in the conference.

  "Hamad" expressed this during the session attended by the Chairman of the Women and Children Committee in the House of Representatives, Intisar Shanib, the Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Intisar Abboud, the Minister of State for Illegal Immigration Fathi Al-Tabawi, representatives of international organizations, and members of the African Parliament expressing their full support for women and their empowerment in all fields due to its high efficiency and remarkable successes at various levels.

  According to the government’s official website on Monday, the dialogue session dealt with opening a cooperative horizon with international bodies, and developing a national strategy for sustainable development at the governmental level in general, and the issue of irregular migration in particular, in addition to strengthening the capabilities of the security services and increasing interest in them by enhancing the capabilities of their members and raising their awareness of the rights of migrant groups, and working to amend the laws and legislation regulating irregular migration, to ensure the protection of the rights of migrant women, while activating international agreements in countries that suffer from migration, whether countries of source, transit, or destination, and enhancing coordination between ministries regarding the immigration file and cooperation between executive authorities, civil society, and re-maintaining and restructuring offices providing health care to migrant women, especially elderly women with disabilities.
