The truck and bus company signs an agreement to restart production lines with the Italian partner Iveco.

  Tajora, May 24, 2024 (LANA) - The Board of Directors of the Truck and Bus Company signed yesterday, Thursday, with the regional director of the Italian company Iveco in North Africa and the Middle East at the company’s headquarters in the Tajora Industrial Complex, an agreement to restore the company’s activity, begin supplying, and actually begin work as soon as possible, following an expanded meeting with Minister of Industry and Minerals, Ahmed Abu Heisa.

  The Information Office of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals said that the minister stressed the need for the company to return to work with his full support for the company’s management in order for it to return to production and provide all facilities and guarantees.

He explained that the managements of the Libyan and Italian sides discussed during the meeting ways of cooperation and the return of the company’s production to its previous era and overcoming the difficulties that the company faced during previous periods, and it was agreed on a comprehensive feasibility study to determine the capabilities and opportunities available to operate the factory at its full capacity, which contributes to creating new job opportunities and strengthening the local economy. .

The Italian delegation, accompanied by the company's management, toured the factory's corridors to see the infrastructure, machines, and the availability of workers and engineers capable of restarting production in the event of the arrival of disassembled parts and spare parts.

The two parties stressed that, this agreement represents a strategic step towards enhancing cooperation and achieving common benefits, according to the ministry.
