Tripoli, May 14, 2024 (Lana): UN Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Georgette Gagnon, met yesterday with members of Derj Municipality and representatives from women and youths in the city to discuss their needs and the UN’s ongoing support to local communities.

The UNSMIL stated on its website that the city’s citizens spoke about the need for more government funds to support the city’s provision of healthcare, education, and services for youth and women’s political participation.

“I saw work recently completed by UNDP to install solar panels so people can enjoy the city at night, as well as meeting women at a training center for female entrepreneurs,” Gagnon said.
