Arrest one of the most notorious drug traffickers.

Misrata May 13, 2024 (Lana): The Joint Operations Force arrested one of the most notorious and dangerous drug traffickers in Karzaz area of Misrata, who had been sentenced in 1995 to life imprisonment on charges of possession of drugs.

The Force said in a statement that the accused has a long record of drug abuse and trafficking cases, and he has been on the run from prison since 2008. In addition, he has international relations in the field of drug and psychotropic substance trade.

The Force confirmed that the accused was carrying out most of the shipments of narcotic drugs from the eastern and southern regions and then promoted them in Misrata and the western region.

The force stressed that the arrest operations were carried out under direct instructions from the Attorney General at the Misrata Court of Appeal, and all necessary legal measures were taken.

The force explained that the accused uses his home as a major center for promoting and using narcotic substances, in addition to a large quantity of plant seeds suspected of being used to produce narcotic substances.

It also seized large sums of money estimated at more than one and a half million dinars, which he had in his possession during his arrest, and the names of people suspected of being involved with him in drug trade and abuse were recorded, as well as account numbers and debts, some of which were recorded in foreign currency.
