Tripoli, December 18, 2023 (LANA) - The President of the High Council of State, Muhammad Takala, and the two representatives of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Musa Al-Koni, and the head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, confirmed that the solution in Libya lies in finding fair and impartial electoral laws that directly cross the stage of stability by ending the current transitional stages and simultaneous departure for all current objects.

In a joint statement issued after their meeting in Tripoli on Monday, they expressed support for the efforts of the UN envoy in Libya regarding the meetings planned to be held for the five main parties, stressing that dealing positively and being prepared for the preparatory meetings must be without any preconditions in order to give priority to the general national interest, and that concessions are in order to elevate The homeland for the future of the people.

The attendees said in their statement out of our belief that national solutions stem from a searching local will, far from any external dictates held in suspicious circumstances outside the country, and from external agendas seeking to tear apart the unity of Libya and its people, and in confirmation of our firm national position in support of holding national elections as a solid choice for the Libyan people, In view of the faltering implementation of the elections due to the problems occurring in the electoral laws in terms of legal and political disputes over them, we affirm that the solution lies in finding fair and impartial electoral laws that take us directly to the stage of stability by ending the current transitional stages and the simultaneous departure of all current bodies.

In their statement, the attendees called on all parties to completely abandon any sensitivities with a regional or factional dimension. And not to submit to the power of weapons and tyranny, or to get involved in suspicious deals for the purpose of distracting local efforts supported by international consensus.

The joint statement called on all Libyans to stand united in the face of any local or international party trying to confiscate their right to hold elections and end the transitional stages.
