Experts from the International Monetary Fund meet in Tunisia regarding financial and economic policies in Libya

Tunisia, November 13, 2023 (LANA) - The Central Bank of Libya announced today, Monday, the start of the meetings of the International Monetary Fund expert mission in Tunisia in preparation for holding Article 4 consultations for the year 2024, which the bank is hosting, and will continue until November 16.

Central Bank officials are discussing with Fund experts the latest economic and financial developments, financial sector expectations, development, financing of small and medium-sized companies, strengthening public financial frameworks, financial stability, and comprehensive and sustainable growth, according to the Central Bank’s statement.

  The meetings discuss progress made in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, in addition to exchange rate policy, enhancing the value of the national currency and other topics related to economic policies in Libya.

  The Libyan Audit Bureau, the National Oil Corporation, and the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Trade, Planning, Labor and Rehabilitation of the National Unity Government are participating in these meetings.
