UNSMIL holds a meeting with the DDR Working Group.

Tunis, November 12, 2023 (Lana) The UNSMIL held on Friday in Tunis a meeting with the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) Working Group, with the active participation of key Libyan officials from the East and West.
The UNSMIL’s statement said that the meeting provided a platform for a coherent international community approach to supporting relevant Libyan institutions to contribute to DDR and broadly to social cohesion, peace, and stability for Libya and the region.
According to the statement, the meeting, which was attended by the UN Country Team, member states, and INGOs, identified important recommendations, including engaging community leaders in conflict prevention, mediation, and de-militarizing residential areas.
