Cotonou, November 3, 2023 (Lana) A member of the High National Electoral Commission (HNEC), Abdelhakim Al-Shaab, participated yesterday in the 11th General Assembly meeting of the Association of African Electoral Boards, which is being held in Cotonou, Benin.

The HNEC stated on its Facebook page that the meeting discussed ways to develop electoral processes conducted within the member states of the African Union.

The meeting also discussed the best mechanisms and practices that raise the level of transparency and professionalism in elections and how to overcome all obstacles to ensure that voters have access to their political rights.

It is noteworthy that Libya holds the position of Vice President of the Association of African Electoral Boards.
