Dbaiba follows the progress of the educational process in Derna and the municipalities affected by the floods.

Tripoli, November 01, 2023 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, followed-up with the Minister of Education, Musa Al-Maqrif, on the progress of the educational process in Derna and the affected municipalities, and maintenance work for the damaged schools there.

During the meeting held in the Cabinet Office, the Minister of Education provided a detailed explanation about the return of studies in the municipality of Derna and a number of afflicted municipalities, after settling the administrative and educational conditions in coordination with the Educational Inspection Service.

Al-Magarif reported that approximately 18,000 students were reassigned to various undamaged schools in Derna and neighboring municipalities, and conditions were created to transfer more than 2,100 students to other cities.

The Minister of Education confirmed that the maintenance of 101 schools out of a total of 117 has been completed through the branch of the Educational Facilities Authority in the eastern region, while coordination efforts continue to maintain the damaged schools in Derna.

  For his part, the Prime Minister stressed the need to fill the teacher shortage by raising performance rates, implementing school staffing, educational monitoring, and organizing workers in the sector.

Dbaiba praised the exceptional efforts of all educational, teaching and administrative staff in all educational institutions, specifically in Derna schools and the municipalities affected by the floods.
