Choosing the international Libyan novelist Ibrahim Al-Koni as the Cultural Personality of the Year at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2023.

Tripoli, October 24, 2023 (Lana): The Sharjah Book Authority chose the international Libyan novelist “Ibrahim Al-Koni” to be the Cultural Personality of the Year for the activities of the Sharjah International Book Fair in its 42nd session for the year 2023.
The authority stated that choosing Al-Koni as the cultural personality came in recognition of his great contributions to developing and enriching the Arab and international cultural and literary scene and his great efforts in exporting the voice of Arab writers to the world.
His literary works have been translated into more than 40 languages, and a number of his works are studied in the curricula of European, American, Japanese, and other universities around the world.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture provides its sincere congratulations to the great writer “Al-Koni” for this well-deserved honor, wishing him further success.
