Marrakesh, 14 October 2023 (Lana) The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer, participated in the plenary session of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) yesterday in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The session was attended by the President of the World Bank, the Director General of the IMF, central bank governors, and the finance ministers of the member states of the IMF and World Bank.
The session focused on the global economic and financial situation, their impact on the economies of advanced and developed countries, and the measures required to reduce poverty.
The session also discussed sustainable development events in African countries and giving a greater role to the continent’s countries in their representation in international institutions and the IMF in particular.
The participants agreed to support coordination efforts between the IMF and the World Bank in adopting economic and financial policies that maintain financial and monetary stability.
