Chadian Interior: Chadian opposition militants are present in rugged areas on our borders with Libya.
Pulbished on:N'Djamena, August 27, 2023 (LANA) - The Chadian Deputy Minister of Interior, "Ibrahim Al-Asil," said that the armed groups causing the recent tensions on the border with Libya are stationed in the rugged border areas between the two countries.
Al-Asil confirmed, in statements published by the Russian news agency Sputnik, that these gunmen have been present for a long time in the mountainous region in the far south of Libya and the north of Chad, and they are outside the Libyan and Chadian security control.
The Chadian official also indicated that the armed groups were formed during periods of political chaos in Libya, as some of them participated in the Libyan conflicts and some of them became mercenaries.
The Chadian Accord Front had revealed an incursion of the Chadian army into Libyan territory with the aim of attacking what it described as the rear base in Libya, according to a statement issued by it.
In its statement, the Front said that the ruling Chadian military council had violated the signed ceasefire agreement, with its air strikes on the Front's bases, leaving at least 3 dead and four wounded inside Libyan territory.
The front also announced its violation of the unilateral ceasefire, declaring war on the army and the painful and unrestricted response to the air operations that targeted them.
