Egypt welcomes the joint Libyan statement signed in Benghazi.

Cairo, August 20, 2023 (Lana): In a statement issued today by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt welcomed the joint statement issued in Benghazi yesterday, which confirmed the national constants that ensure national ownership of national dialogue, ensure stability, and hold elections as soon as possible in Libya.
Egypt commended the statement that emphasized national ownership of any Libyan political track and national dialogue and the call of the head of the UNSMIL not to take any unilateral steps in connection with the political track.
Egypt reiterated its full support for the Libyan institutions as they carry out their tasks in order to fulfill all the necessary frameworks for holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya as soon as possible, and called on all international parties to support these national efforts within the framework of commitment to the principle of supporting the Libyan-Libyan solution and out of concern for the stability of Libya’s sovereignty and to achieve the aspirations of its brotherly people.
