Tunisian Prime Minister discusses with Al-Hawij increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
Pulbished on:TUS, August 12, 2023 (LANA) - Tunisian Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Hashani discussed with the Minister of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity, Muhammad Al-Hawij, who is currently visiting Tunisia, the developing economic and trade relations and increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
Al-Hawij stressed during the meeting, according to the Ministry of Economy, the directives of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government to start implementing the Libyan-Tunisian corridor project towards sub-Saharan African countries and to develop a joint future vision to maintain food and drug security between the two countries.
For his part, the Tunisian Prime Minister stressed the importance of this meeting within the framework of strengthening Tunisian-Libyan relations, noting the role of the private sector in development and trade relations in various fields between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed activating previous agreements and memorandums of understanding and putting them into practice, as well as evaluating the commercial border crossing, Ras-Jedir, in addition to the ongoing preparations for holding the meeting of the Joint Higher Committee to be held in Tripoli.
The meeting was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Tunisia, Mustafa Iqdara, the Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Said, the Tunisian Minister of Trade and Export Development, Kulthum Ben Rajab, the President of the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Al-Raed, and the President of the Tunisian Federation of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts, Samir Magoul.
