Economic and Social Development Council and Japanese Embassy discuss cooperation

Tripoli, 23 January, 2023 (LANA) - Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, Mahmoud Al Futaisi, discussed, Monday, with a delegation from the Japanese Embassy in Tripoli, means of cooperation and technical support through the work of the WFP organization in Libya. 

  The meeting, which was attended by Amani Kobayashi, Deputy Head of Mission, Masaaki Amadera, Special Coordinator for Libya, and Yasuo Misawa, Deputy Resident Representative of the World Food Program in Libya (WFP), reviewed the Council’s work in the two projects of the National Strategy for Food Security and the National Strategy for Social Protection..

The Director General of the Council, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, stressed the need to transfer knowledge to government institutions by tapping into international experiences in several subjects.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to design a joint action plan for the activities that the Embassy of Japan intends to support in Libya.
