Abubakar Fal: Lana is an important and prominent founding member of Pan-African News Agency.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 23 December, 2022 (LANA) - The Director General of the Pan-African News Agency (PANA) Abu Bakr Fal has stated that the Libyan News Agency (Lana) is an important and prominent founding member of the Board of Directors of the Pan-African News Agency "PANA Press", one of the institutions of the African Union.
This came during a visit made by Fal, Friday, to the headquarters of the Libyan News Agency (Lana) in the capital, Tripoli, during which he was briefed on the work of modernizing and developing the agency's newsroom.
Fal said in a statement to Lana that the development of the Pan-African News Agency calls for the efforts of all Africans, praising in this regard the role of the Board of Directors (PANA), which is chaired by Libya, which he said realized the importance of the Pan-African News Agency and started a series of negotiations and consultations on the highest levels to correct the agency's situation and get it out of the financial crisis, and open new horizons for the pan-African news agency.
He added that there is a spirit to develop the media in Libya, and that the press is a very important means for building democratic societies in Libya, and there will be no democracy in Africa without a strong, professional and high-level media.
Fal revealed that the pan-African agency will soon transform into a "Multi Media" agency with a new programme that is more productive and a new structure working for the benefit of all partner agencies.
He stressed that the Pan-African News Agency has the means, the will and the technical level, but it needs a political will to be able to develop the agency's technical media, and this is what prompts us to establish a new structure and a new system for news production and to offer the market new and multiple materials, and this requires the development of new technologies.
