Minister of Economy calls for improving access to financing for micro, small and medium enterprises.
Pulbished on:Tripoli 11 December 2022 (Lana) Minister of Economy and Trade ,Mohammed Al-Haweij, chaired the final meeting of the Steering Committee of the European Program to Support the Private Sector in Libya (2019/2023) funded by the EU and implement by Expertise France, with the participation of Program Director at the European Union Delegation to Libya ,Francesca Cuccia, and the Programs Director at the Expertise France, , the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade ,Suhail Abu Shiha, and a number of specialists in the Ministry.
The Minister stressed in his remark, the importance of EU’s support, which is considered an essential partner for Libya, in order to reach the desired positive results, represented in strengthening the capabilities of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, developing the private sector, and supporting the economic empowerment of youth and women.
Al-Haweij called for improving access to financing for micro, small and medium enterprises, stressing the seriousness and commitment of all partners in the program, whether from the European Union, French experts or Libyan authorities.
For their side, representatives of the EU and Expertise France stressed their commitment to supporting the private sector and improving business environment in Libya which is being implemented in partnership with Ministry of Economy and Trade and a number of sectors.
