Al-Mangoush receives the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in Tripoli.

 Tripoli, 10 November 2022 (Lana) GNU Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangoush received at the Ministry's headquarters in the capital Tripoli on Thursday the General Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court ‘ICC’ "Karim Khan". Al-Mangoush said it hoped the meeting, the first of its kind between the Foreign Ministry of Libya and the ICC Prosecutor, would be a prelude to a close and lasting coordination between the two sides.

     According to the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting dealt with strengthening cooperation between the Libyan judiciary, the International Criminal Court and the Office of the Prosecutor General, in cases related to human rights, murders, and the issue of mass graves in the city of Tarhuna, to provide international technical support in criminal matters, and developing the scope and mechanisms of cooperation, in addition to the possibility of holding an international conference in Libya under the supervision of the International Criminal Court as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Al-Mangoush praised the role of the Libyan judiciary in the performance of its tasks, stressing the consolidation of the concept of justice norms in the transitional stages, and importance of joint cooperation between the International Criminal Court and the Libyan judiciary to ensure a more effective role to establish justice, accountability and stability.
