Minister of Foreign Affairs discusses with UN Official latest developments in the country
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 4 August, 2022 (Lana) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Manqoush, met, Thursday, in Tripoli, the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Rizdon Zeninga to discuss the latest political developments in the Libyan arena. Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources stated that, during the meeting, Mr. Zninga reiterated the mission’s commitment to continue efforts to support a fair and transparent political process led by the Libyans and who have ownership of it to build peace to ensure the holding of national parliamentary and presidential elections in accordance with an agreed constitutional framework and consistent with the outcomes of the Berlin Conferences 1 and 2 and the Conference to Support Stability in Libya and the Paris Conference, to promote stability and prosperity in all parts of the country.
Mr. Zninga welcomed the positive efforts that led to the lifting of force majeure and the resumption of oil and gas production from Libyan ports and its return to normal production and export rates.
For her part, the minister thanked Mr. Zninga for his condolences for the victims of the Bint Baya municipality incident, stressing the need not to politicize humanitarian actions and services for any reason.
