National Security Adviser Ibrahim Bouchnaf: We welcome every step that keeps away the specter of a return to war and fighting.
Pulbished on:Benghazi, 21 July 2022 (Lana) Libyan National Security Advisor Ibrahim Bouchnaf welcomed the military meetings held in the capital Tripoli between Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Haddad, Lt. Gen. Abdul Razek Al-Nadori and military commanders of the Joint Military Commission (5+5).
Bouchnaf pointed out in press statements that ‘despite the positive meeting, the threats to national security are still high, and we hope to continue these meetings and consensuses, and complete the steps announced in the final statement of the meeting, stressing that the military is able to remove threats to national security, especially in the field of counter-terrorism, and help the security forces in establishing security inside the country."
Bouchnaf stressed that the steps announced in the final statement, such as joint patrols and full control of the border, must be completed, the first steps to maintain the country's national security. On the issue of migrants and displaced persons, Bouchnaf said, "We are waiting for what has been announced in this regard regarding the progress of national reconciliation and the return of displaced persons from all parts of the country to their homes."
