Pashagha welcomes endorsement of the General Budget Act by the House of Representatives.
Pulbished on:Sirte, 16 June 2022 (Lana) The Head of the government assigned by the House of Representatives, Fathi Pashagha, welcomed approval by the House of Representatives of the new budget law, explaining that the budget submitted by his government was devoid of the emergency clause and the reduced steering expenses allocations.
In a televised video address posted on the Government's SMS page, Pashagha said that the passing by Parliament of the budget law showed a national consensus, ushering in a new phase in which institutions are united and the state's standing and power strengthened by adopting the state's general budget, which means that public money is protected by the force of law and no one, including the government, can spend one dinar except under the budget law.
He explained that this will contribute to the unification of the financial institutions of the state, make it easier for the regulatory authorities to perform their legal duties, and remove from the Central Bank of Libya a heavy burden, which is the trustee on the state coffers, and is considered the institution most affected by the lack of a budget approved by law, and today the central bank will be based in its work on the budget law issued by the House of Representatives, he said.
