Dabaiba follows up with Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections, the extent of its readiness to complete the elections, and the difficulties it faces.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 10 May, 2022 (Lana) The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba met , Tuesday, the head and members of the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections, to determine the committee's readiness and its willingness to complete the election procedure in the remaining municipalities that were not elected, and the problems and difficulties facing its work and provision requirements needed.
Dabaiba stressed during the meeting the need to adhere to the stages of completing the municipal council elections, noting that the election of municipal councils confirm commitment to the democratic path, and the importance of the role of municipalities in the government that adopts the option of decentralization by giving wide powers to the municipalities, for their ability to stand on the needs and choices of their citizens.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections has a national and historical role in conducting the elections.
It is noteworthy that the Central Committee was established in 2013 and supervised the elections of municipal councils in several municipalities.
