The Libyan government mandated by the House of Representatives holds its first meeting in the city of Sabha.

Sabha, April 22, 2022 (LANA) - The Libyan government mandated by the House of Representatives headed by "Fathi Bashagha" held its first official meeting, Thursday, in the city of Sabha.

At the opening of the first meeting of the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha said, “We open the first government sessions from the city of Sabha, the capital of the south, which has always suffered from exclusion and neglect. We are resolved to conduct our business with a legitimate Libyan government emanating from the legislative authority in a transparent and impartial manner.

He added, "We were different for ten years, and that led to fighting and war, and today we gathered from everywhere for Libya, the homeland and the symbol for which we have abandoned our homes, separated our children and sacrificed our personal interests, gathered us together, and that Libya is not a spoil to be seized by a person, government or a particular family that believes that it can buy the country with Libyan money’’.

In his speech, "Bashagha" explained that (the agenda of his government meeting today includes discussing the draft general budget law and the proposal for the unified salary schedule and referring it to the House of Representatives, security and military measures to secure the southern borders, proposals related to supporting municipalities and resuming service projects, especially in health, education and transportation, in addition to discussing the reasons for closing the oil ports, putting in place appropriate solutions, and equitably addressing the issue of oil revenues.
