Tripoli, March 21, 2022 (LANA) - The Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams, will hold a consultative session tomorrow, Tuesday in Tunisia, with representatives of the Supreme Council of State in the joint committee between the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State to agree on a tight constitutional basis for the Libyan elections.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya said in a statement on its Facebook account that the head of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, sent an official letter that included the names of the participants in the joint committee, while the United Nations has not received, to date, a list of representatives of the House of Representatives  Committee participants.

The mission indicated that the House of Representatives is expected to present a list of its representatives in the joint committee and to join the meeting in the coming days, noting that Chancellor Williams continues to communicate effectively with the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

On March 3, Stephanie Williams announced an initiative to form a joint committee of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State to agree on a constitutional basis for a court for national elections, and formal invitations were sent to the presidency of both houses to select representatives to participate in the joint committee.
