Tripoli 8 March 2022(Lana)  GNU Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Haweij held an expanded meeting that involved Undersecretary for Economic Afairs ,a number of heads of affiliated authorities and directors of departments and offices in the Ministry ,dedicated to follow up on the Ministry's plan to upgrade the economy and activate and develop the insurance ,investment ,trade ,and small and medium enterprises sectors, with the aim to achieve  economic diversity and spatial development.

The meeting also reviewed the activity of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs in promoting investment  projects with participation of the private and foreign sectors ,in the areas of renewable energy ,food industries ,medical services ,construction ,as well as activating the suspended industrial and agricultural projects in different regions.

The meeting also discussed the Ministry's plan to follow up on the local market ,regulating prices ,and quality of services which will be referred to the Council of Ministers ,within the framework of implementing the Ministry's plan to control prices, and improve individual income.

The meeting discussed expanding wheat cultivation in the southern cities ,establishing a grain bureau ,and supporting the Price Stabilization Fund.
