House of Representatives listens at meeting in Tobruk to briefing from the roadmap committee on its findings.

   Tobruk, 31 January 2022 (Lana) The House of Representatives held its official meeting in Tobruk on Monday, chaired by Speaker Ageela Saleh, in the presence of second deputy Hmeid Houma.

 According to council spokesman Abdullah Bleiheg, the meeting opened with a speech by the Speaker of the House of Representatives on a number of issues, followed by a briefing by the roadmap committee on its findings, as well as remarks by a number of deputies. Bleiheg said that the meeting of the House of Representatives has agreed that the office of the rapporteur of the House starts receiving the candidacy documents for the post of head of the government, to be promptly examined to ensure they conform to the required conditions, and to notify the roadmap committee to consult with the High Council of State to present it to the House of Representatives in the meeting of the House of Representatives on February 7 to hear the candidates and on February 8 to choose the prime minister.

He added that on Tuesday’s meeting, the internal security law and the sports law will be presented to the House of Representatives in addition to asking the House Finance Committee to speed up the study of the law on the unification of salaries for state workers and present it at next Monday's meeting, as well as to ask some ambassadors and the adviser of the UN Secretary-General not to interfere in the Libyan affairs, as well as to ask the Attorney General to investigate banning of the plane of the deputies from landing at The Airport of Mi’tiga.

Bleiheg also said the House Energy Committee would be asked to summon the Director of the Electricity Company to be asked abou prolonged power outages and necessary solutions it envisages to be put to the House, and to present to the House names of MPs who assumed posts in the government, companies and institutions in breach of the law and in contravention to their obligations.
