Tripoli, October 9, 2021 (LANA) - Libyan Airlines will resume today, Saturday, its flights to Cairo International Airport, after a 7-year hiatus.

The Al-Ahram Gate website stated that the first flights are scheduled to take off from Mietiqa International Airport at 11.30 am this morning, when they will arrive at Terminal No. 1 known as the old airport at Cairo International Airport.

The website added, quoting sources at Cairo Airport, "Cairo International Airport received a letter from Libyan Airlines confirming the arrival or flight of it today, Saturday."

It explained that the plane that will take off from Mietiqa Airport is an Airbus (330) carrying flight number (LN 202) with 255 passengers on board, indicating that it will leave Cairo immediately after landing and return with 250 passengers on board.

The website indicated that the Libyan Airlines asked Cairo International Airport to prepare a celebration for the arrival of the first flight, through water cannons that receive the plane on the airport runway, which is the customary procedure for the opening of new airlines or the resumption of flights after a long pause.
