Al Mnefi Discuss with US Ambassador Political Developments in Libya.

Tripoli, 21 August 2021(Lana) The Spokeswoman for the Presidency Council Najwa Oheiba said a phone conversation was conducted between the President of the Presidency Council Mohamed Al Mnefi and the US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland focusing on latest political developments in Libya.

The US Embassy in Libya however said in remarks posted to its SMS page   ‘Special Envoy and Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland spoke by phone with Presidency Council President Menfi on Thursday, reiterating their shared commitment to holding December elections on time, to meet the Libyan peoples’ expectation of free and fair elections in support of a stable, unified, and democratic Libya.’

‘They also called on all parties in Libya to refrain from any mobilization that may be perceived as an escalation that could undermine the implementation of the 23 October 2020 ceasefire agreement, it added.’
