Bani Walid Joins Garyan in Sounding Alarm Bell of Oxygen Shortage.

Tripoli, 7 August 2021(Lana) Chairman of the Municipal Council of Bani Walid Younis Al Azouzi has issued an SOS to the Ministry of Health, and other relevant bodies to provide Oxygen for the quarantine centre in the area, warning of dire consequences of it running out of stock, and few number of canisters.

The quarantine centre has no capacity to accommodate any more patients because of lack of beds, Al Azouzi said, indicating that Coronavirus cases in Bani Walid were on the increase with 15 patients in the intensive care unit, and 2 died on Friday.

Al Azouzi said the price of filling oxygen canisters is LD 25 which we provide from the Municipality with hardship.

The University Hospital in Garyan has issued a similar appeal on Friday, warning of collapse of the healthcare system in the city, as a result of deep shortage of oxygen. It called on medical professionals to report to work as the number of Coronavirus infection soured in the city.
