Libyan Information Corporation renames Libyan Official Channel to Libya 17 Channel.

Information Corporation, Mohamed Baiu, renames the "Libyan Official
Channel" to "Libya 17 Channel".
The decision which was circulated to the mass media provided for
that Libya 17 Channel would be a national media audio-visual space
that contributes through its programmes in the consolidated
consciousness of Libyan national identity, noble goals and aims of
February 17 revolution, in building advanced democratic, civilian
national state, and contribute to comprehensive and sustainable
development that realizes stability, prosperity in developing
knowledge awareness advocating human rights and equal citizenship
based on law and constitution.
The channel would contribute according to the decision to
creating fruitful space for dialogue among Libyans under the ceiling
of the homeland and umbrella of peace and high national interest, and
outside the sphere of conflicts and disputes and works to cement
relations among fellow Libyans and highlight the affair of science,
knowledge, enlightenment and culture versing backwardness, bigotry,
ignorance and myths and wisdom and peace to replace resorting to
arms.
The decision explained that the channel will broadcast from
Tripoli, and would have production centres and services across the
country, based on work goals and needs, and would be dependent on
its management and production on capabilities, talents and creativity
of Libyan youth both men and women.
