Paris, November 19, 2020 (LANA) - The Minister of Interior Fathi
Bashagha signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen
cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and a French
security institution, in the field of developing biometric systems
with the aim of launching barometric identity systems. To prepare for
election requirements and other security purposes.
This came after Bashagha and his accompanying delegation met,
Tuesday, in the French capital, Paris, with a number of officials of
security institutions specialized in biometric identification for
security and civil purposes, during which they discussed
opportunities for partnerships between the Ministry of Interior and
these institutions.
The meeting discussed the launch of sensitive and advanced video
surveillance systems for cities, which provide smart processing,
which includes faster interventions, better targeting, rapid
detection of threats, and a stronger link with the population.
The meeting also discussed how to take advantage of these
capabilities in running the voter identification systems in the
elections, and ensuring that they are secure from fraud, as these
systems provide superior security that prevents fraud, and
