Brega November 16, 2020 (LANA) - The head of the United Nations
Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Williams, confirmed the opening
of the coastal highway road between Misurata and Sirte.
Williams said in a joint press conference today, Monday, with the
head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, in Brega
today, Monday, that the Libyan dialogue sessions have achieved
tangible progress and that there is a road map to implement what was
agreed upon.
Williams said she is optimistic about the results of the work of the
75 members of the Libyan Dialogue Forum, who discussed the prepared
roadmap, stressing that there are common points of understanding
between them.
In the press conference, Williams announced the launch of a project
to unify the Petroleum Facilities Guard in Libya, and the creation of
a model project to secure oil fields and that production will start
soon.
Williams revealed that the UN Security Council will hold a session
after three days, indicating that during it she would present a
briefing on what happened during the Libyan political dialogue
sessions.
For his part, Sanalla affirmed in the press conference that the work
of the Petroleum Facilities Guard will be organized based on three
new components that are assigned clear tasks, including industrial
security, a protection force and a regular army.
