Libya Displays its Human Rights Report Before UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Tripoli, 12 November 2020(Lana) GNA Minister of Justice on
Wednesday led the national team taking part in the regular
comprehensive review of human rights which Libya submitted to the UN
Human Rights Council in February.
The Minister said in his remarks that the GNA Government was
committed to protection and promotion of human rights in spite of the
difficult circumstances in which the country id going through.
He outlined the efforts being exerted by the Government to ensure
respect for human, civil, political, economic and social rights of
individuals, and the GNA role in curbing violations of those rights
and the perpetrators of those violations.
The remarks also included the steps taken by the Government to
implement recommendations which Libya had undertaken during the
second review of 2015.
Following the Minister's remarks, notes were presented by more
than 110 interventions on the state of human rights in Libya on which
the Libyan side offered replies.
