Tripoli, November 9, 2020 (Lana) - Acting Special
Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in
Libya, Stephanie Williams, anticipated the hoped-for results of the
Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, by motivating the participants in
the dialogue to reach solutions to end the Libyan crisis.
"Perhaps the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum will not solve all
of Libya's problems, but the failure to solve some of them at least
may make it impossible to solve the conflict in the future," said
"Stephanie Williams" in posts posted on the mission's website.
Williams added, " Libyans share a national vision to get their
country out of the current crisis, which is the basis of the national
political program. This program begins with the formation of a
unified executive authority that continues the road to elections and
ends with democratic elections that end the transitional phase.
The UN envoy affirmed that the main goal of the national political
program is to renew political legitimacy by conducting transparent
and fair national elections in accordance with a clear and agreed
timeframe, stressing that the new government must create the
appropriate climate for holding elections, launching the path of
national reconciliation, combating corruption and promoting public
services that provided by the government to Libyans.
