Libyan-Mauritanian military talks in the field of combating terrorism and organized crime.

Nouakchott, October 31, 2020 (Lana) - The discussions of the
Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lt. Gen. Mohamed
Al-Haddad, in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott, with Mauritanian
Defense Minister Hanan Ould Sidi, focused on security and military
coordination between the two countries in the field of combating
terrorism and organized crime.
The talks between the Libyan and Mauritanian sides dealt with the
discussion of cooperation relations between the two countries and
ways to enhance and develop them in all fields, in addition to
strengthening the ceasefire agreement recently signed in Geneva.
The official Mauritanian News Agency indicated to Lieutenant
General Mohamed Al-Haddad and the accompanying military delegation,
after the meeting, had visited the General Command of the Army's
Staff, and the headquarters of the Executive Secretariat of the Group
of Five Sahel Countries in Nouakchott.
The Mauritanian Agency stated that these visits by the Libyan
military delegation aim to open communication channels between the
State of Libya and the Group of Five, which includes Burkina Faso,
Mali, Chad and Niger, and Mauritania currently holds its rotating
presidency.
