UNSMIL Says Direct Talks Between Libyan Parties in Hughada Concluded With Important Recommendations.

Tripoli, 1 October 2020(Lana) The UN Support Mission in Libya
UNSMIL said delegations comprising Army and Police Officers
representing the two parties to the conflict in Libya have concluded
talks in the Egyptian city Hurghada on September 29 with important
recommendations.
The mission said the two day discussions 'were marked by a spirit
of responsibility and mutual trust.'
A number of pressing security and military issues, including
arrangements in an area to be defined in a later stage within the
framework of 5+5 Joint Military Committee talks were addressed,
UNSMIL said in a report posted to its SMS page and seen by the Libyan
news agency.
The report indicated that among the set of recommedations made by
the Hughada meeting which will be presented to the 5+5 meeting were
the release of all detained on account of identity, halt of hate
speech, reopening of air traffic and transportation lines across the
country and referring the tasks of Petroleum Facilities Guard to the
5+5 Joint Military Committee with a request to prioritize this issue
and an emphasis on the need o ensure regular oil and gas production
and export.
