UNSMIL Congratulates Misrata for Successful Municipal Elections.

Tripoli, 6 September 2020(Lana) The UN Support Mission in Libya has congratulated the citizens of Misrata for the 'peaceful and successful municipal elections held on August 3. 'The elections have proved once more that Libyan are keen to exercise their right to elect their representatives against all odds and at this difficult juncture', the Acting Head of UNSMIL Stephanie Williams said. I want to pay tribute to all those who have contributed to these elections including in the Central Committee for Municipal Councils Elections and all others involved, Williams said. The UN Mission reiterated its support for the people of Libya to strengthen their democratic institutions and promote local government bodies. =Lana=
