The Minister of Interior discusses with the Attorney General in Charge of Conducting Criminal Investigations.

Tripoli, August 19, 2020 (LANA) - Fathi Bashagha, Minister of
Interior of the Government of National Accord, discussed with
Counselor Ibrahim Masoud Ali, Chargé d'Affairs General Prosecutor,
the problems and difficulties hindering the functioning of the
investigations section of the Attorney General's office, which hinder
the performance of its duties to the fullest extent.
This came during a visit by Bashagha, on Tuesday, to the Attorney
General's office, during which he was received by Acting Attorney
General Counselor Ibrahim Masoud Ali and Counselor Al-Siddiq Al-Sour,
Head of the Office's Investigation Department and Director of the
Public Prosecutor's Office Alajaili Taitash.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement published on its
website on social media that "the meeting dealt with the problems
that hinder the functioning of the investigations section of the
Office of the Attorney General by following up on a number of cases
presented to the office".
The Ministry of Interior stated that "the visit comes within the
framework of close and continuous coordination between the Office of
the Attorney General and the Ministry of Interior to work together
within the framework of criminal investigations carried out by
members of the Public Prosecution Office and the criminal orders
issued by them to the security services, whether those cases related
to financial crimes, cross-border crimes, or cases of terrorism".
Adding that "The visit aims to expand the horizons for the mutual
exchange of information in a number of important issues, indicating
that the two sides have renewed their willingness to open horizons of
joint cooperation between them in the interest of the country".
